Beginners

As a teaching club, we offer lessons to beginners and those who already play bridge but would like to develop their game. Whether you want to play with expert supervision, social bridge with friends, ‘gentle’ or competitive duplicate, there will be an option for you.

Our beginners’ programme consists of three blocks of 10 weeks, starting in October 2025 and running through until June 2026.  Revision is provided at the end of each block so that you can consolidate your knowledge before moving on to the next stage. You will be taught by experienced bridge players in a friendly and relaxed environment and will receive handouts for each lesson (including the practice hands) so that you will always have notes to refer back to.

Classes are held in the club on a Tuesday afternoon from 2 pm to 4 pm.

  • Block 1 starts on 7th October and ends on 9th December 2025
  • Block 2 starts on 13th January and ends on 17th March 2026
  • Block 3 starts on 14th April and ends on 16th June 2026

The cost for each block is £60 but if you are aged 21 or under, in full time education or claiming job seekers allowance, lessons are free of charge.

Bridge really is a wonderful game. It stretches the mind and provides an opportunity to meet and make new friends.
